Winning Respect, Justice and Rights
These are the simple facts behind SIPTU’s decision to ask you to commit to Strike Action to win fair and equal treatment and justice in your workplace:
For over 15 months, SIPTU Health representatives have done everything possible to have your Job Evaluation Scheme reinstated as AGREED UNDER THE TERMS OF THE LANSDOWNE ROAD AGREEMENT. Despite the HSE and Department of Health formally agreeing to reintroduce the scheme our members continue to be denied the right to have their job evaluated.
INCREMENTAL CREDIT SUPPORT STAFF INTERNS:
Having secured permanent posts for Support Staff under the LANSDOWNE ROAD AGREEMENT the HSE have insisted on applying Point 1 of the incremental scale while awarding full incremental credit to new staff and staff converting from Agency. This anomaly is an intolerable injustice which despite our committed effort has not been corrected by the HSE. The position taken by the employer is a breach of the Agreement which could have been corrected through negotiation.
EQUAL TREATMENT FOR ALL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT WORKERS:
In January 2016, the HSE and Department of Health rewarded a single grade of health worker working n the Emergency Department of Acute Hospitals additional annual leave and education funding concessions. As you know Emergency Departments rely on a multidisciplinary team working together. Despite our commitment to negotiate with the HSE under the auspices of the Workplace Relations Commission and having the Labour Court insisted on the parties returning to negotiations, no proposal aimed at resolving the dispute has been presented.
In order to achieve equality and respect for our members, we present this claim for you to ballot on.
BALLOTING COMMENCES ON MONDAY JANUARY 23RD 2017.
