SIPTU members hold lunchtime protest outside St Patrick’s Mental Health Services
SIPTU members held a lunchtime protest at St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, James Street, Dublin 8, today (12th April) at 12.00 p.m., in response to a decision by senior management to cease employer contributions to the staff defined benefit pension scheme.
SIPTU Organiser, Aideen Carberry, said: “Our members are outraged and insulted at the decision made by their employer and the trustees of this scheme to cease their contributions without proper consultation with the workers effected.
“Our members will now be considering taking further action to ensure their employer lives up to its obligation to respect its workforce and discuss these critical matters with their union representatives.”
