
SIPTU members express solidarity with members of the Irish Coast Guard
SIPTU Health members’ have this morning (Tuesday, 14th March) expressed their sincerest sympathy and solidarity to the families of the crew of Rescue116 and all members of the Irish Coast Guard.
Irish Ambulance Representative Council (IARC) Chairperson, Peter Ray said: “Our thoughts first are with the family of the missing crew of Rescue116 and our colleagues in the Irish Coast Guard. We work side by side with the coast guard every day and see at first-hand the vital public service they provide.
“I wish to extend the solidarity of all SIPTU members working in the National Ambulance Service at this very difficult time.”
SIPTU Ambulance Sector President, Ciaran Sheridan said: “Our members are deeply shocked and saddened. People who work in emergency services have a unique bond that transcends any organisation we work for; whether we are paramedics, firefighters or coastguards we save lives, day in and day out. Our hearts and minds are with all our IMPACT colleagues in the Irish Coast Guard today.”
