Reintroduction of job evaluation for health service support staff
SIPTU Health representatives have today (Thursday, 30th March) confirmed that job evaluation for support staff grades will finally be re-introduced and come into effect in the coming days.
SIPTU Health Division Organiser, Paul Bell said: “Our members have fought long and hard to get this scheme reintroduced. They felt so strongly about its necessity that they voted in recent weeks by an overwhelming majority to take strike action unless management honoured the terms of the Lansdowne Road Agreement and gave the green light to this vital process.”
“The scheme will commence within the next ten days in pilot sites that are agreed between SIPTU and the HSE. These sites and services will encompass a broad spectrum of health service provision throughout the country, from acute services to maternity care to care of the elderly and care in the community. Phase one will conclude before the end of June 2017.”
He added: “I am also pleased to advise that sample job evaluation forms will be issued in the coming days to our representatives for consideration and distribution. SIPTU representatives will also provide assistance and support to our members to complete the process. We will issue further updates to our members in the coming days and weeks.”
