
National nursing retention and recruitment talks adjourn
SIPTU representatives will recommence negotiations with senior management of the Health Service Executive (HSE), Department of Health and Department of Public Expenditure and Reform on Monday morning (30th January) over HSE nursing and midwifery retention and recruitment proposals.
SIPTU Divisional Organiser, Paul Bell said: “Talks concluded on Friday evening (27th January) after intense negotiations where the HSE presented a document to our union representatives, which forms the basis for further discussions next week.
Over the coming days, SIPTU representatives will consult our National Nursing Committee of the developments before reconvening negotiations on Monday morning at 11am.”
SIPTU Sector Organiser, Kevin Figgis said: “SIPTU negotiators are committed to securing the funding necessary to provide nursing and midwifery services necessary for 2017, and beyond.”
